It’s Time for Action – Trans Depath Day 2020

21 October 2020 finds us, once again, joining the call for International Day of Action for Trans Depathologization.

A year ago, trans depathologization made a decisive step forward when the World Health Assembly confirmed what we always knew: being trans is not a pathology. We also knew that decisive as it was, that step was far away from the end goal.

More than ever, we keep fighting to ensure trans people’s access to legal gender recognition, to gender affirming healthcare based on self-determination and to universal healthcare coverage; to decolonize gender markers, standards of care and service provision systems; and to support trans people’s access to climate, socioeconomic, racial and reparative justice.

Today, we call upon trans activists and our allies everywhere to put action at the center of our commitment to international trans depathologization.

We will be announcing a webinar on how to take action to support trans depathologization in the coming week, so keep an eye on our social media and website for updates!
