We express our sincere gratitude for his contribution to changing historical marginalization, and for giving trans and gender diverse people’s human rights the careful attention they deserve.
GATE joins today the annual observance of the International Day of Families; whose 2018 theme is Families and inclusive societies. It affirms the role of family and family policies in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 16 on Promoting peaceful and inclusive societies.
On International Day of Families, we call for recognition that families may include intersex infants, children or adults. We call for justice and an end to all forms of violence, torture and discrimination against children born with intersex variations.
Intersex and the Yogyakarta Principles +10 encourages better recognition of intersex human rights issues by people who use a SOGI framework.
