AIDS 2026, the 26th International AIDS Conference, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and virtually on 26-31 July 2026, comes at a crucial time for the HIV response.
In the face of an unprecedented funding crisis and major cutbacks to HIV programmes, the world’s largest conference on HIV and AIDS will bring together people living with HIV, researchers, policy makers, healthcare professionals, funders, media and communities – to rethink, rebuild and rise – this is this year theme!
Registration for AIDS 2026 will open in November 2025. For more information about AIDS 2026, visit www.aids2026.org.
Trans Events at AIDS 2026
The AIDS 2024 Conference in Munich held the first ever all-trans panel, highlighting the importance of having trans professionals in health care settings. At AIDS 2026 in Rio, we want to ensure that trans voices are uplifted in the Conference program. As a member of the IAS Conference Organizing Committee, GATE is committed to supporting our members to apply for scholarships and submit proposals for abstracts and workshops. We will have more updates over the coming months, but in the meantime, watch the video below to get inspired!
Once the Conference program has been developed, GATE will develop a Trans Road Map for AIDS 2026! This roadmap will help you navigate the conference more effectively as it highlights sessions that address critical issues and advancements pertinent to trans and gender diverse communities.
GATE is delighted to share that, once again, we will be hosting a Trans Networking Zone in the Global Village, which will be is a space for trans and gender diverse people, friends and allies to come together to relax, make new connections, and support one another at the AIDS 2026 Conference in Rio.
