As anti-gender extremists intensify their attacks against trans and gender diverse communities, organizations, and allies, it is crucial to be prepared to respond effectively. This online training will provide guidance and best practices for handling crises arising from such attacks.
Led by Hallah Willard of Heart Forward Consulting, the session will cover strategies for addressing and managing crises caused by anti-gender extremism. Drawing on GATE’s recently published crisis communications toolkit, Turning the Tide: A Toolkit to Combat Anti-Gender Extremism, and building on GATE’s experience in responding to attacks from media and public officials, the training will offer actionable recommendations tailored for trans and gender diverse activists facing attacks from the anti-gender movement.
Purpose and Outcome
Taking place over 90 minutes, this online training session will include a presentation of best practices followed by a Q&A segment. Attendees will have the opportunity to present real-life scenarios and receive guidance and recommendations. This interactive component aims to address specific challenges and provide practical advice on implementing the toolkit’s recommendations in various contexts
