The rise of anti-gender and anti-rights movements poses significant challenges to trans and gender diverse activists worldwide. These movements threaten the progress made in advancing trans rights globally and create a hostile environment for activism. To address these challenges, it is crucial for activists to have a space to share their experiences, effective strategies, and resources.

To facilitate this space at the global level, GATE has invited two regional leaders to highlight their successes and challenges in tackling anti-gender attacks in their respective contexts across Asia and the Pacific. They will share best practices and key resources that you can adapt to your local context to improve your organization’s capacity to respond to anti-gender attacks in your region.

Purpose & Outcome

This session aims to foster trans- and gender diverse-led South-South and South-East collaborations and empower organizations to anticipate, prevent and respond to anti-gender and anti-rights actors.

Participants will engage in an online dynamic discussion and explore activists’ lessons learned from Asia and the Pacific who have been tackling anti-gender actors in their local contexts.

This session will be in English with AI translation provided for all languages.
