The Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference, held on 20—21 July 2024 in Munich, Germany, convened 200 activists, researchers, policymakers, and community leaders from the trans and gender diverse community. The Conference addressed global issues within this community, with three main program themes: health, human rights, and movement building.

The purpose of the human rights program was to engage in discussions about the current global issues of trans and gender diverse communities and develop ideas, strategies, practical measures, and a more robust action plan. The findings from the productive discussions among participants will greatly influence GATE’s Strategic Planning process, ensuring that future advocacy activities are closely linked with the needs and objectives of our community and members worldwide.

This report consolidates the key insights from the human rights program of the Global Trans Conference, which included one plenary session and four breakout sessions that were specifically designed to address challenges, exchange best practices, and develop strategies for future trans and gender diverse advocacy and GATE’s strategic planning.
