GATE operates at the global level and has a unique classification system for regions around the world. In some cases, this is closely linked to the structure of regional trans and gender diverse-led organizations. In other cases, we have classified regions by regional cultural identity or, like some high-income countries, based on relative privilege afforded by operating from these countries.
If you apply to become a GATE member, your organization will be classified under one of GATE’s six regions. These regional classifications enable us to provide targeted support to our members based on specific regional needs, as well as enable members to develop cross-regional connections to build a global trans and gender diverse-led organizational network.
