- On 20-21 July 2024, GATE is hosting Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference.
Registration for both conferences will be included in one package for grantmakers and the donor community.
About the Donor Pre-Conference
The Donor Pre-Conference is specifically tailored to the grantmaking and donor community (philanthropic donors, government development actors, high-net wealth individuals, and others).
This event will host key public and private grantmakers, donor governments, corporate funders, high-net wealth individuals, and other partners funding trans movements to develop strategies, share insights, and invent new ways to work together and respond to crises and opportunities for trans movements and communities.
This pre-conference will foster a shared understanding of the needs of the field and identify and encourage opportunities for alignment, collaboration, and learning within the donor community financing trans-led movements.
The Donor Pre-Conference is taking place prior to the AIDS 2024 Conference in Munich, Germany, on 19 July 2024.
About the Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference
The Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference is tailored to trans and gender diverse leaders and key stakeholders, including grantmaking and donor communities invested in funding trans movements. This Conference is organized jointly with APCOM, the Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN), the East Africa Trans Health and Advocacy Network (EATHAN), the European Sex Workers Rights Alliance (ESWA), Gender Dynamix, RedLacTrans, Transgender Europe (TGEU), Trans United Europe, Transgender Law Center, Transgender Red Umbrella and United Caribbean Trans Network (UCTrans) – TGD and sex workers networks representing all world regions.
This event will convene up to 200 trans and gender diverse leaders and stakeholders from around the world to address the notable lack of TGD-specific and -inclusive global strategies, particularly in the global HIV response, and to formulate a unified response to anti-gender and anti-rights opposition.
This 2-day conference will provide an opportunity for grantmakers and donor communities to hear first-hand from trans and gender diverse leaders across the globe, enable key networking opportunities, and create a starting point for identifying priorities and strategic avenues for changes, strengthening global and regional capabilities, and developing successful alliances across regions. The Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference is taking place prior to the AIDS 2024 Conference in Munich, Germany, from 20-21 July 2024.
