GATE partnered with Dr. Asa Radix to launch a webinar series: Turning Trans Communities Impact into Successful Abstracts & Powerful Presentations for International Conferences – a webinar series exclusive for trans activists and researchers.

Why we need these webinars?

Around the world, trans-led organizations are driving groundbreaking work on HIV prevention, gender-affirming care, and human rights advocacy, yet remain underrepresented at international conferences such as the IAS International AIDS Conference.

Trans-led organizations and activists often face barriers, including limited mentorship in abstract writing, restricted access to technical guidance, and a lack of familiarity with global conference submission processes.

To address these gaps, we will host a two-part webinar series to equip trans activists, researchers, and advocates with the tools to transform community practice and research into compelling abstracts and professional presentations for global visibility.

What you will learn

To strengthen the capacity of trans-led organizations globally to document, analyze, and present community-driven initiatives on international platforms, ensuring authentic trans representation in global health and rights dialogues, these webinars will support you in:

  • Understanding the structure, tone, and expectations of abstracts for global conferences (AIDS, WPATH, and others).
  • Translating local advocacy and programmatic work into measurable, evidence-based outcomes suitable for international dissemination.
  • Developing storytelling, data visualization, and knowledge-translation skills that center trans experiences.
  • Strengthening confidence in public speaking, delivery, and audience engagement.

How to attend?

Webinar 1 – Turning Trans Community Impact into an Abstract

The main goal of this webinar is to support you in understanding Abstract categories (scientific, implementation, advocacy), identifying data and stories and aligning work with global themes.

  • Date & Time: 4 December, 10:00 EST / 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET / 22:00 ICT

Webinar 2 –  From Abstract to the Global Stage: Creating Powerful Presentations

The main goal of this second webinar is to support you in transforming accepted abstracts into oral or poster presentations. You’ll explore the use of storytelling for advocacy, how to design it, how to make it accessible and get to know some successful delivery techniques.

  • Date & Time: 17 December, 10:00 EST / 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET / 22:00 ICT

Note: You only need to register once to attend both webinars

Who is this for?

  • Trans-led and gender diverse community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates from all global regions.
  • Activists implementing HIV, health, or rights projects who aim to present their work internationally.
  • Individuals who are new to abstract writing or presentations at global conferences.

What can you expect?

By attending these 2 webinars you might get the chance of completing a successful Abstract and submit it to AIDS 2026 or WPATH 2026 Conferences.

The webinar aims to strengthen the capacity of trans-led organizations globally to document, analyze, and present community-driven initiatives on international platforms, ensuring authentic trans representation in global health and rights dialogues.
