GATE has partnered with ViiV Healthcare Positive Action to provide this training for global trans and gender diverse activists to develop a successful grant proposal.
GATE has created an open-access course on Grant Proposal Writing, which will guide trans, gender diverse and intersex organizations to write effective grant proposals.
The purpose of the training is to guide you through the toolkit and to help you apply it to your own organization and work. While it is a lot of work to apply for funding, hopefully, this training and accompanying toolkit provide you with a space to store information about your organization and work that you can use again and again for other donors.
Here is an overview of the four key areas that you will explore in this training:
- Introduction to writing a grant proposal
- Writing a proposal narrative
- Creating a budget
- Making the final case
These short video sessions have been carefully designed for you to share with members of your organization. They are easy to follow to ensure accessibility for everyone.
Toolkit
GATE’s Proposal Writing Toolkit is a practical guide to help organizations write funding proposals and apply for grants. Your grant proposal is the main tool that the funder uses to get to know your work better and understand how you plan to make progress toward the change you hope to make in the world.
Grant proposals can take a lot of time. This toolkit can help you gather all the important information about your organization and work in one place, which you can update and change as needed.
Although this is available in the course, it can also be used as a stand-alone resource, so you can download and use it directly.
