The Unite! Advocate! Thrive! Global Trans Conference, held on 20—21 July 2024 in Munich, Germany, convened 200 activists, researchers, policymakers, and community leaders from the trans and gender diverse community. The Conference addressed global issues within this community, with three main program themes: health, human rights, and movement building.
Under the theme ‘Unite! Advocate! Thrive!’, the Conference served as a vital platform for critical discussions on the global challenges faced by trans and gender diverse communities. The program, developed by the Conference Organizing Committee, featured three plenary sessions and multiple concurrent breakout sessions dedicated to issues related to health, human rights, and movement building. The program was developed to ensure the centering of the exchange of best practices in order to foster intersectionality and resilience among trans and gender diverse individuals across the world.
The Global Trans Conference was a watershed moment for the trans and gender diverse community. Focusing on three critical thematic areas — health, human rights, and movement building — the Conference was designed not only to address the pressing issues facing the trans and gender diverse community, but also to forge a strategic path forward.
