This year we commemorate World AIDS Day in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the devastation caused by the ongoing pandemic, we call on global policymakers and donors to not lose sight of their goal to end the HIV epidemic, which is entering its fifth decade and continues to disproportionately devastate our communities.
World AIDS Day
On December 1st we commemorate World AIDS Day, to raise awareness around HIV and to remember and honor those who have died of AIDS-related illnesses. The theme for this year is Communities Make The Difference.
Today, December 1st, GATE joins the global observation of World AIDS Day (WAD). WAD is an opportunity for all of us to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, to intensify efforts in preventing new infections and to commemorate those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses.
