Based on a yearlong project, amfAR and Global Action for Trans Equality (GATE) have released a new report, Increasing Trans Inclusion in HIV/AIDS National Strategic Planning: Learnings from Community Advocacy in Five Countries.
The Third Committee of the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution presenting the Annual Report of the Human Rights Council today without a challenge to the renewal of the mandate of the Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination on the basis of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (IE SOGI) for a second time.
GATE conducted a qualitative study among global trans & gender diverse community members to understand values and preferences regarding HIV, hepatitis & STI services. The outcomes of these studies informed the 2022 updated WHO Consolidated guidelines on HIV, viral hepatitis and STI prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for key populations.
