This powerful declaration highlights the challenges facing our trans and gender diverse communities and amplifies our voices globally.

We have always existed. We are here to stay. We are here to resist. We are here to Thrive!

Violence, Discrimination, and Human Rights

We have long faced hate and violence due to stereotypes and stigma associated with our identities. Legal restrictions and attacks on our human rights perpetuated by anti-gender movements are causing global fear and uncertainty, putting our lives and those of future generations at risk. Although the Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirms dignity and equality for all, our communities continue to be oppressed by patriarchy, misogyny, cis-heteronormativity, transphobia, racism, classism, and xenophobia. Stop limiting our potential and reducing us as second-class citizens! We demand universal human rights now!

Health Care

Governments have imposed restrictions on our healthcare, particularly gender-affirming care, creating hardships and leading to stigma, violence, and high suicide rates. We advocate for health equality and reproductive rights that respect our intersectional identities. We require full access to decolonized and depathologized health care and demand community-based holistic gender-affirming, HIV and sexual health care without gatekeepers.

Education and Economic Opportunities

Discrimination is depriving many trans and gender diverse individuals of their fundamental right to education. Early education dropouts and lack of employment opportunities create a vicious cycle of poverty, criminalization and poor quality of life for our communities. We demand inclusive education that recognizes and supports trans and gender diverse students and promotes equal access to economic opportunities.

Trans and Gender Diverse Movements

We share the struggles of socioeconomic inequality and disempowerment with our siblings, trans or not. As our lives are intersectional, we resist the anti-rights strategy of division and will stand by each other. Attacks on the rights of any marginalized community are an attack on all of us. We honor the sacrifices our ancestors made for our right to exist and we must push for a just, fair and more trans and gender diverse inclusive world that values us for who we are.
