GATE, in collaboration with WHO, UNAIDS, and FCAA, has prepared a set of recommendations to help donors and other key stakeholders to support, partner with, and fund community-led responses.
The session will illustrate the current anti-rights atmosphere and demonstrate how the anti-gender movement links inextricably to restrictions to healthcare access for trans and gender diverse people. Panelists will showcase how the growing anti-gender movement affects the response to HIV, harm reduction, and sexual and reproductive rights services overall.
The IAS Conference on HIV Science is the world’s most influential meeting on HIV research and its applications. The 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science, is taking place in Brisbane, Australia, and virtually from 23 to 26 July 2023, presenting the critical advances in basic, clinical and operational HIV research that move science into policy and practice.
GATE collaborated with STOPAIDS, Results UK, WACI Health, Kampala Initiative, INPUD, GNP+, and ICW on a joint briefing - Anti-Oppression and Health Equality - which addresses discrimination, punitive laws, and other social determinants of health.
Internationally, there is increasing awareness that inequality is a driver of global pandemics. Community-led organizations must be at the center of health interventions and human rights advocacy to effectively combat current and future health threats.
